US Military Targeted a 'Large Plant' in the Venezuelan nation, Trump Claimed Lacking Providing Details.

Former President Trump has claimed that US forces targeted a "significant installation" in the South American country recently. However, the former president withheld information about the exact purpose or site of the target, and there has been no additional comment from his team.

Vague Comments Made In a Talk Show

"US forces just eliminated – I don't know if you heard – they have a large facility, where the ships depart from. Two nights ago, we destroyed it. So we struck them with significant force," Trump reportedly told Republican donor and businessman John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Potential Significance of a Confirmed Attack

Should a US military action were to be verified, it would represent the initial ground target hit since the US Department of Defense began a expansion of American strike forces in the region to interdict narco-trafficking operations that the former administration alleges operate under the orders of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The original purpose of the force deployment has evolved into a blockade aimed at stopping the nation's crude oil shipments.

Online Video and Official Statements

Trump has for weeks warned that US forces are ready to escalate the military campaign by attacking objectives inside Venezuela, a strategy that would theoretically require legislative approval.

Video footage shared on social media on 24 December seemed to depict an explosion reportedly from an industrial area in Zulia state. Yet, the footage or the site in question has not been independently verified.

An official from Trump's team allegedly told a news network that the president was describing a drug facility in his comments.

Response and Ongoing Military Situation

The Venezuelan government has issued no statement on the incident the former president described. Furthermore, there have been no verified accounts from Venezuela about it.

The buildup of American forces in the area – a position certain officials have called a maritime "quarantine" – marks the broadest naval operation of his time in office.

Administration officials have refrained from labeling the operation as a blockade, but have stated that approximately 15,000 personnel are deployed across the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, advanced fighter jets, and law enforcement vessels to enforce current economic sanctions.
