Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is his maiden trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet rescued four initial opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
